GUEST HOUSE
OUR HISTORY
In Flemish Brabant, in the heart of Hageland, discover this farm that dates back to 1840. Surrounded by woods to the south, fields to the north and a river to the east, calm reigns supreme. Virginie & Guillaume, adventurers at heart and nature lovers, welcome you to the gîte of their house, which they wanted to be raw:
bricks, oak and stone.
The farm is located on a family property. The family has been there since 1785. On the maps of 1777, we find the first traces of buildings on the site of the farm. Its current form dates from 1840. It kept its function as a farm until 1965. A stone's throw away is the Cleerbeek Castle. The first remains of the castle date from the 15th century. It was used in the past as a court of justice. The place called “Cleerbeek” comes from the mill that is also on the property. The Kleerbeek water mill was for centuries a water mill for cereals on an eastern branch of the Winge River, which flows at the end of the garden.
